Stories from the Hearth is an experimental storytelling podcast, a free artistic space in the style of a painter's studio or writer's diary. It is a place for you to lose yourself in truly original short stories and their immersive soundscapes, written, narrated, and produced by Scottish poet Cal Bannerman. A love letter to Gojira, a post-Cold War parable, a tale of confinement, escape, and approaching catastrophe. Mother Pearl and the Nuclear Disaster is all of these things and more. It is the story of a child born into nuclear winter, a community obse... more
Bumps in the night. Shrieks through the wall. Strange smells in the hallway. A long-empty flat suddenly occupied by a reclusive and rather... furry individual. Upstairs neighbours are - let's face it - a nuisance, an anomaly, the bane of all apartmen... more

This is one of my favourite podcasts, and I’m always excited to see new episodes! Really enjoy your style, the production, the concept, and the stories themselves!

Closed my eyes and could picture each character in my head - on a cold rainy January day this was just perfect to disappear into.
Looking forward to the next Episode - well done Calum!
I listened to the first episode and was blown away. I went for a nice run and let the narrator take me away to a foreign land with his beautifully sown together words. Definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a great short stories podcast.
