From those drawn in by the technical, revelling in the challenge of perfecting processes and refining finishes to others who have found it to be a pathway of both self expression but also self exploration.
Each carver shares their own journey and hence their unique approach providing wonderfully diverse insights into the world of the spoon carver.
Such a great podcast, lovely kind and respectful interviewer with varied and enthusiastic guests. Has helped me to glimpse the complexity and depth of spoon carving skills amd culture .
Listening to this podcast provided warmth during one of the harshest winters of my life. As a new spoon carver, these conversations provide so much useful information and I love learning about how folks get into the craft as well as how their culture influences their work. Love these! Simon (the host) does a great job with this podcast. He talks with craft people from around the world about their experiences in spoon and wood carving (plus some green woodworking). The conversations are very relaxed and engaging. Did you know that you can carve a spoon out of a mango tree?
