Metallica-based podcasts don’t come better than this. Ryan J Downey is an excellent host, with a very relaxed manner that makes him incredibly easy to listen to, and is very knowledgeable and passionate about all things Metallica. He has a wide and fairly varied range of guests, from multiple walks of life and fields, that gives real insight into the mind of a Metallica fan. I’ve spent many an enjoyable hour listening to this podcast, and will continue to do so while Ryan records them for us 🤘... more
Fantastic content and so creative.
Excellent info and insights on the greatest band ever, great to hear from different artists and people and relive/remember my own along with it. Still playing catch up so have many episodes to go!!
Rock on Ryan great work
Fantastic interview series that uses Metallica as a gateway to talk about even MORE Metallica. It’s brilliant.
Excellent content. Be prepared to adjust your volume…a lot.
Really wish I had discovered this podcast earlier. So good. Really enjoying going back and listening to some of the older ones with thrash legends like Gary Holt.
This podcast is great with a nice line up of guests that delve deep into not only Metallica history, but also the history of rock and metal music in general. Very entertaining and informative. Keep em’ coming!!
Downey explores all the little trails and overgrown pathways that Metallica lifers will LOVE. Interviews with the dudes who you’ll recognize from 80’s liner notes and songwriting credits. Just a rad knowledgeable trip through all the nooks and crannies that others wouldn’t even consider.
Love the interviews. Great interviewer. Enjoy the indepth interviews with other rock stars in a fan of and hearing about them but also their connection to Metallica glad I stumbled upon this podcast. Keep it going.
Very good podcast. I like the wide range of guests and some of their backstories relating to both Metallica and the metal music scene. I’ve learned a lot and I haven’t even listened to all of the shows yet. Keep up the good work.
Great podcast with a really laidback and humble interviewer. 👌🏼
Great Podcast
I am listening today to your review of the S&M2 show you went to. My aunt who passed in 1998 was a harpist in the San Francisco orchestra in the late 70’s I believe and when I was starting a band in the 90’s she wanted to see the sheet music of the music I liked so I showed her the “music book” from Puppets. I will always remember that she told me that everything she saw in this book was equally arranged and flowed like a traditional classical piece.
It was around a year the firs... more
Came to listen to Billy Duffy interview as I’m a big Cult fan - great job!!! Will be coming back for more! 🤟🏻
Hells bells this podcast! Love it. Just when I thought I couldn’t find Metallica more interesting! Thanks bro for a hella good PC!
This is a great podcast primarily because of Ryan Downey. He's a great interveiwer, develops a great rapport with each guest, with the core of the discussions being all things Metallica, but stemming into often interesting directions regarding inspirations, artistic directions, and sometimes just general humor. Anyone who was ever a Metallica fan, who has a passion for music, will find this not only a worthwhile listen but a worthwhile subscription.
