Thanks for this great new series. Can't wait to hear more. Updated this review to say how much I appreciate the time and effort the hosts put in to this show. Recently enjoyed the 230e and Time Domain Processor episodes and I’m looking forward to catching up with newer eps.
An oasis of quirky sound, inspiration and envy…
A Buchla instrument is a hefty investment that not everyone can afford. Heck, I don’t own any Buchla synthesizers (…yet?) but I tune in every month to the Source of Uncertainty. What I get out of the show is a deep and insightful discussion of not just the gear itself, but the mindset and workflow - the “Buchlidean” nature of these tools and the people who make and use them - which can not only entertain but also inform any musical practice, from acoustic instruments, to iOS music production, to... more
Love this podcast! Please keep them coming!
Great pod on everything Buchla.
WHAT’S THE STORY?
The company was founded as Buchla & Associates by synthesizer pioneer Don Buchla in 1963 in Berkeley, California. In 2012 the company was acquired by a group of Australian investors trading as Audio Supermarket Pty. Ltd. The company was renamed Buchla Electronic Musical Instruments as part of the acquisition.
What is the story behind this? Don had a disagreement with them. What is the end result for people how just want a real Easel? Are these new ones the real deal?
Thanks for this great new series. Can't wait to hear more.
Really hope you keep this going!
Excited to finally have a podcast that is dedicated to Buchla instruments!
