A music podcast where each week we gather to talk about an album that, while very important to a lot of people, none of us really know that well. Come hear something familiar or something new and learn a little something along the way. One thing is for sure; no matter what album we talk about, somebody likes it.

We'll edit for the moment that I think Jimmy Buffett's real missed business opportunity could have been something called Jimmy's Buffet (just trays, warmers, cheeseburgers, presumably. Margarita machines).
Admittedly, some of these episodes are exc... more
Let's just get something incredibly obvious out of the way up top about this episode - there was a hiatus in between the time Ryan selected this LP and the time we were actually able to convene and record it, and by contrast, Fontaines DC are actuall... more
So, to be obvious about it, we talk about Canada here, like a LOT.
Entirely too much. The Guess Who will do that to you.
All of the usual and a few unusual bits are trotted out. We are aware, and we are fond of Canadians. But the deep dive in th... more
Marc Bolan went out like a Roman candle or a speed bump or in some such way an incandescent rock star dies at twenty-nine, and left in his wake a glitterbomb of glam stardust and swagger a mile wide and a few albums deep.

These guys seem to just be perpetually triggered by everything. I guess it’s a troll. Lol
I’ve downloaded many songs and new music I wouldn’t have known about through listening to these guys, whether old stuff or new artists. I like the history, and hearing about the connections between the artists covered - like who influenced them, and then who they influenced. I wish the airtime was more equal between y’all though - share the air.
Stumbled on their New York Dolls episode. Clearly not a not of time is spent on research. The topper though was, after spending almost an hour mostly trashing the Dolls first album, they play the f@#%ing Lumineers as some great song of the week which pretty much underscored how clueless they are when it comes to understanding what made certain protopunk bands great. Stick to your modern pop music boys. You’re in over your heads when it comes to anything older than you are.
I had taken a break from listening to podcasts for a while and got really excited when they came back. It's my favorite way to find music that's new to me.
The talks I had with my friends listening to records back in the day would have resultet in a podcast like this. Not everything has to be published. I tried to listen to a few of those here but couldn't make it through. I much rather like 'The Great Albums' podcast which has a lot more insight and substance.
