As disastrous as the 1998 American Godzilla film may have been, one unequivocally good thing came out of it: Godzilla: The Series, a dark Fox Kids sci-fi show that reinvented and rearranged elements of its predecessor into something much smarter and ... more
Are you team atomic lizard or team big monkey? Chels from The Q Division meets us in Hollow Earth for the big dumb drag wrestling match (complimentary) and all its synthwave bisexual lighting glory! We talk about Kong as a protagonist in the Monst... more
Kong ain't no fortunate son, no! The big ape's introduction to the Monsterverse is a period piece pastiche of 70s Vietnam War-era concepts -- from Apocalypse Now to the predictable needle drops -- resulting in an action-packed adventure movie full of... more
We've reached the end of the divisive anime trilogy with the even more divisive and maddening final entry -- a pure cosmic horror film where an extradimensional noncorporeal Ghidorah slaughters nearly everyone and gives Godzilla an hour-long hug. We ... more

I appreciate the deep dives and conversation around the themes and the characters, but a significant portion of these podcasts are taken up by trying to give context to how Godzilla evolved over time both culturally and in what continuity exists, while tiptoeing around what happened in those earlier films.
This is a prison of the host’s own making and would have been entirely avoidable had they just decided to go in release order, or if they had watched a representative sample from each era be... more
Love this podcast. Been a Godzilla fan all my life and was usually the only one in any of my friend groups that was or I was just a kid so I couldn’t really talk about all the details within the movies. Plus I missed a whole lot of the movies over the years and I’ve been watching/rewatching everything recently so hearing you guys talk about them is fantastic. You guys are great to listen to. Passionate, funny, knowledgeable, plus the into song rips.
Godzilla always have a special place in my heart and this podcast has helped me understand it better. Growing up, every Friday my family would go to Blockbuster and I would always pick out one with Gman on the cover to watch. Never could I imagine all the craziness that happened behind the scenes and after listening to this podcast I really appreciate everything it took for those movies to be made and changed how I view some of elements now that I have more context. Always a great listen!
And this podcast is really helping me understand him. 😍
