I listen to this during chores. It’s been really helpful to practice listening. It keeps me thinking about Spanish, even when I can’t sit down to look at a lesson.
A thousand speakers will have a thousand different accents. Negative comments about “a bad accent” here show the negative poster’s ignorance of spoken language.
Simple Stories in Spanish is my go-to podcast as I try to improve my Spanish skills.
Most of the disparaging remarks are about the anglicized pronunciation and accents which miss the whole point. This is specifically for beginners, and is excellent for beginners. I use this podcast primarily to increase my vocabulary, and listen to native speakers to learn
Advanced and localized accents.
I have seen people give this delightful podcast poor reviews because of an “accent”. Surely these people are aware that “accents” sound different according to many factors. Your “English” accent maybe American…American of the southern states, New England, California, etc. All which sound different. It might be Irish, Australian, Scottish, British… I hope you get the point. There is no one “Spanish accent”.

I really wanted to like this, but I just can’t get past the accent. I would recommend this for brand new beginners, but just be aware that most words are not pronounced correctly. It’s like Peggy Hill teaching Spanish.
