This is hands down the best resource for all things computer programming! Tons of free knowledge
This is hands down the best resource for all things computer programming! Tons of free knowledge
Unfortunately the audio quality is terrible, the volume changes which when coupled with poor quality makes for an abrasive listening experience. I'm not a fan of the intro music either. Having done so many podcasts I would expect better quality, especially from a tech person.
I found this guy when I was new to the industry. I felt like he was a "brogrammer" even back then, but I gave him a shot. I listened for a few months and watched the YouTube videos and realized....he's not talking to me. A woman. What a waste of my time. I felt so belittled by half his content. The questions that came in all seemed to be guys who haven't been in a relationship with another human irl besides their family. Anyway, waste of time and he's always selling something. There are better p... more
Nothing but rambling and repeating the same non-useful information. This podcast is nothing but a marketing tool to get you to buy (or watch while being forced to watch commercials) his other content. I’ve already decided if anything useful was to be available in the other content, I would find it elsewhere without the ramble. This guy needs to go back to his day job. If you like it, check out other podcasts and programming content. You will find your time much better spent. Garbage.
John helps you keep it real!
John has some decent advise for anyone starting their career, but it is of a very general nature. Aside from answering the occasional question about what technology to learn, this podcast has nothing to do with programming, and is of no help to established IT professionals. Also, just a warning that the f-bomb is frequently dropped.
John seems to have great insights and has found a great niche. However, the theme song and advertisements are so annoying that I have to skip over them. I am an avid podcast listener and this is the only one I can't handle. If it comes on at a time I can't forward ahead, I turn it off. It's that bad. Also, I am not sure why he is using the F word so much. Other than that it is a pretty clean podcast and could be great for high school students. He has a lot of insights and is very motivating. As an experienced developer myself, I don't find this podcast helpful.
After 6 minutes in and hearing the 3rd F-bomb I decided to just shut it off. It's a shame because The guy typically makes quite a few good points. I just prefer not to absorb so much negative language while trying to get insights on programming.
Highly recommend this podcast by John Sonmez. I'm a developer who started listening for his insight in the business, but stayed for his knowledge in business and life. Highly recommend.
John Sonmez is a past guest of my podcast - AppMasters.co - and he really knows his stuff. He is an inspiration to me.
Since I am considering a career in app development, I started looking through podcasts to find something that would help me on that journey. I was looking for one with short episodes that I could easily make time for, one that didn’t bombard me with unfamiliar jargon but still contained relevant and interesting information.
This podcast was the perfect solution. John is an engaging an informative host and answers lots of questions I’ve had, such as whether or not boot camps are worth the price.... more
