比较和排序要想材料得到有效的利用，在整理材料的过程中对材料进行分类和排序是非常必要的。在把事物排序之前，一定要先将事物进行比较。根据不同的标准对事物进行比较，就会出现不同的排列结果，在排列当中通常会存在一定的方向性和规律。比如说，把三个大小不一的汽车进行排序的话，就会是大汽车、中型汽车、小汽车的顺序。这个排列的方向是从大到小，规律是反映大小顺序。当然排列的方向也可以换成从小到大。
