Thirteen was written by Alex Chilton and Chris Bell of Big Star, not Gram Parsons, as you stated.
Without reservation, an appreciation of Wilco. But it is also informative, well produced, and entertaining. Host(s) gives personal perspectives, but entirely welcoming & inclusive. Not dogmatic, at all. Guests contribute to broader picture & ideas surrounding the band.
First few episodes were excellent and totally about the band we all love. But once they started to layer their Christian beliefs on Wilco, a clearly agnostic band, they lost me. Isn’t Jeff Jewish? It became more about the hosts than the band. more
I’m happy to have found this podcast since it’s all about my favorite band, and even when you think you know everything there is to know, surprise! There’s more! Todd seems to be a real fan who “gets” Wilco and is genuinely interested in what his guests have to say. The episode with super fan Paul Suwan in particular, was a revelation. Keep ‘em coming!
You’ve got a great idea here, but ya GOTTA lose the TV talk delivery. Speak like a normal person and ditch the corny, local morning show, over enunciation patois and cliche phrases. Bravo to your guests who refused to participate in your Start, Bench, Cut bit. What was the point? Reducing Wilco to a handful of songs? Stop playing games and have fun with the music. Rooting for you!
