It's June 6, 1998. The number one movie in the United States is 'The Truman Show.' NBC ruled television, with 'Friends,' 'E.R.', and 'Seinfeld' dominating the ratings. Brandy and Monica were on top of the music charts, and, oh, and 'Sex and the City' aired its first episode. Welcome to 'Shortcomings,' a new 'Sex and the City' podcast from Sam Bush (aka @bravohistorian) and Chris Lewis. They're goi... more

Hannah is heading out of New York City and going home to Michigan and we're not quite sure how we feel about it. Is Eric the finest character we've ever met or a sicko? After a beautiful debut, does this second go-round live up to the first appearanc... more
Oh what an episode! For some reason, we spend some time discussing Anne Hathaway and the drop of SATC on Netflix. But then we get into this CLASSIC episode of GIRLS. We get into it all - the role of writer in Hannah's life (and a chat about Carrie), ... more
"Don't quit before the miracle." A line from Jessa or a plea from us to all of you to keep listening - this week we discuss a lot and very little, so feel free to skip through the beginning section. We get into the many Matts of the world, Jeff's spi... more
He's here and he's (im)perfect - and yes, we mean Booth Jonathan. We're breaking down episode 3 and that means you're getting us sharing our own baggage, question the character of Jeff, ponder Charlie's shorter hair, and simply marvel at Jessa's firs... more

You call Ariana Madix a loser but you’re the only recapping a show that ended in 2017. Chris has a lot of opinions but not good ones because he doesn’t explain them. It’s just a lot of talking down about women and propping up ugly men. How dreadful.
somehow I’ve become so attached to this podcast you’ve actually gotten me to get my eyes on Girls… never thought I’d enjoy a Lena Dunham production but here I am, deeply moved and shocked by her firm grasp on young womanhood. as I move through the first season I keep marking down things that I can’t wait to hear y’all cover, like the mirror affirmations in ep 8 (?). all that to say keep on doing what you do! <3 AND I NEED A COWBOY CARTER 40 MIN PRE EPISODE BREAKDOWN! #hive
Either I’m misremembering the old episodes or the new ones where they are recapping Girls are so slow to get to the point. I would be more into 40 minutes of rambling before the actual content if they (not as much Sam) weren’t so negative.
The other podcast Girls recap podcast is terrible.. zoomer upspeak with tangents and nothing interesting to add. I appreciate you guys so much more.
So glad you’re back with Girls!
