I just found this podcast. The conversation between these two artists is insightful, engaging and fresh. I am very familiar with a variety of art podcasts but this one is thought provoking and is of today’s world. Always interesting, has helped immensely in my art practice.
Each episode of this podcast is a thoughtful and important conversation about design, art, and creativity laced with humility and encouragement (which is much needed but incredibly rare in the art world). Ryan and Garreth wrestle with questions and share insights from their experiences as artists and instructors. It’s quite a pleasure to listen in on their intriguing conversations each week. This podcast is a breath of fresh air and inspiration!
Ryan and Garreth possess a unique ability to synthesize a wide range of ideas into digestible, interconnected insights! Through a refreshingly conversational tone, they dive into challenging questions about how to navigate the world as an artist or designer. I highly recommend Shockoe Artspeak for anyone looking to examine the world in which we live and explore the pervasiveness of art & design. Know and be known! 👊
I listen to a lot of podcasts on visual arts but the consistent depth of the discourse in Shockoe Artspeak is truly unique. I am a working visual artists and university professor and find the nuance, maturity, and ambition of this podcast so refreshing. I’m so happy this podcast exists.
Absolutely love these guys! Their experience and expertise in art and design have done much for my insight into the world of art and even the world in general. They blend high level art talk with goofy jokes and personable stories, making it palatable for the layman/entry level creative and thought provoking for professional artists alike.
I would highly recommend this podcast to anyone who is already or just getting interested in pursuing a creative field.
