いおワールドかごしま水族館に入社後、ウミガメの飼育や川の生き物の展示を担当してきた柏木由香利さんにお話を伺いました。かごしま水族館では「鹿児島の海を切り取った展示」を合言葉に、日々さまざまな工夫を重ねているそうです。
柏木さんは現在、学習交流課に所属し、学校向けの学習プログラムの提供など教育活動を担当しています。水族館として学校との連携を進めたいと考えていたところ、ウミガメの保護活動に取り組む学校から「専門的な知識を基に教育活動を行いたいが難しい」という課題が寄せられました。

第50回では、ウエストジャパンアウトドアースクールのマネージャー池田さんにお話しいただきました。池田さんは金属加工職から、学生時代の冒険教育体験を伝えるべくアウトドア業界へ転身しました。現在は「アースレンジャー」等の自然体験教室を運営する傍ら、LINEを活用し、日常で自然を楽しめる仕組み作りに注力。ITも駆使し、家族が自然と触れ合う機会を増やす活動を推進しています。
