  • Thank you, Joy and Summer!

I know it sounds cheesy, but this podcast has genuinely changed my life. Through Joy and Summer’s conversations, God has shown me MANY areas where I was being a “miserable cow” and was not walking in submission. My marriage has greatly improved as a result of these realizations, as has my walk with the Lord!

Keep up the good work, ladies!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

An Evening with Mike Duran
Q: Should Christians read Dracula?
The guest argues yes, Christians can read Dracula if approached with discernment, seeing the horror as a vehicle for truth about evil and the possibility of redemption, rather than endorsing every aspect of the genre.
Getting My Strength Back
Q: How do you get your mojo back after a long period of survival and health challenges?
The hosts suggest starting with very small, doable actions, accepting that progress will be gradual, and building consistency over time rather than chasing dramatic overnight changes.
Angry & Out of Control
Q: How should parents handle a four-year-old who is angry and out of control?
Use biblical discipline with clear boundaries, give time-outs, reinforce that sin has consequences, offer grace and restoration, pray, and prepare ahead of time with a plan for future incidents so the child learns to master their emotions rather than being ruled by them.
Angry & Out of Control
Q: What are some book recommendations for understanding feminism from a reformed Christian perspective?
They recommend Even Exile, The End of Woman by Cary Gris, and Five Lies of Our Anti-Christian Age by Rosaria Butterfield, plus historical/biographical works like Lucy Stone's biography, to explore feminism from a traditional Christian context.
Be Our Guest
Q: What are some practical bits of advice you could share on what makes a good host?
The hosts suggest starting with practical basics: know allergens and dietary restrictions, prepare simple, make-ahead dishes, clearly direct guests, keep the space comfortable, and use tools like a drink dispenser to reduce friction. They emphasize involving and directing guests, planning ahead, and prioritizing guest comfort over perfection.
