Gave this show a shot but I’m tired of the constant complaining. This is a bitter former player who thinks everything today is wrong. Why not bring in a guy who is currently in the game who is also a former player to discuss things to open up your mind. Aaron Boone, Dave Roberts, AJ Hinch to name a few. Give me a break. You should be promoting the game.
Thanks for getting Billy Ripken on Jeff and Co - my dad is from Baltimore so was a thrill to hear from one of the “royal Oriole” family! Outside of Brooks Robinson, the Ripken’s were top of his list of ball players he and I respected and looked up to! Great interview, great stories
My first love has always been baseball. I was taught this wonderful game by so many coaches 2 which was former major leaguers. I’m sad to see how the game is taught to today. I argue with so many including my nephew’s “hitting coach” on how he is teaching how to hit pop ups instead of line drives. I’m a 13U coach and try to teach the game the way I was taught and I’m so happy to see this podcast because finally someone is coming out against the way the game is being taught to the youth. Jeff Frye is a great conversationalist, which sets a nice base for the show. His brand of deep baseball knowledge, natural engaging stories and passion for the game make for a fun, fast-moving listen. His ongoing Twitter battles against the stupidity in youth coaching are hilarious, and sure to be fodder for future podcasts as well.
Give it a listen, time well spent.
Just listened to the episode with Billy and loved it! Jeff has a great podcast!
