  • Comprehensive Analysis of Franchises!

Great podcast for completists! Gotta watch every movie no matter how crazy they get. Child star check-in is one of my favorite parts and I love the catchy theme song.

  • THE movie sequel podcast

I found this show while looking for podcasts about Tremors, but had to stick around because these hosts are hilarious as they cover films series that offer diminishing and dubious returns. Start with something your familiar with and you’ll be hooked!

  • So good!

I love this show. They are a hilarious bunch and they have me wanting to watch movies I never thought I'd want to. They also get some amazing guests and interviews. They had the editor of the Purge and the screenwriter of the second Dragonheart movie, and I can't wait to see what other series they tackle and who else they can find to talk to.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 302 - The Cutting Edge (GUEST: Kate Vu)
Q: What was it like watching the film as an adult and reflecting on the era it came from?
She notes the movie came out before she was born and reflects on how the nostalgia of 90s montages and Olympic framing feels different when viewed with adult awareness, offering a lens on how cultural memory shifts over time.
Ep 302 - The Cutting Edge (GUEST: Kate Vu)
Q: Tell us a little about your skating background.
Kate describes starting in inline skating, switching to figure skating in early childhood, training with a coach, and the thrill of skating at a young age, which informs her perspective on the film's skating scenes.
Ep 300 - Anaconda (China) (GUEST: Olivia Yu)
Q: How does the episode characterize the Chinese film industry in terms of production quality?
The hosts and Olivia acknowledge improved CGI and production values in recent Chinese films while also noting varying levels of budget discipline and on-set conditions, with cautious optimism about future collaborations.
Ep 300 - Anaconda (China) (GUEST: Olivia Yu)
Q: What did Olivia think of the trailer's accuracy in representing the film?
She felt the trailer captured the tone of terror and suspense, though the group noted some differences between trailer impressions and the actual on-screen atmosphere.
Ep 305 - The Cutting Edge: Chasing The Dream (GUEST: Kevin Darwish)
Q: What stood out to you about the production in Montreal and the film's depiction of figure skating versus real life?
Montreal was a great backdrop; we did a lot of behind-the-scenes shooting and a few days on set. The film exaggerates some aspects for drama—like lighting during competitions and certain plot twists—but the core skating elements and the training intensity are on point, and the atmosphere of teamwork and sacrifice felt authentic to the sport.
