I am greatly enjoying the reading of this novel. The beauty of Austen’s original writing comes through clearly and distinctly.
The voice of the mother of Elizabeth & Marianne was annoying and more robotic than Siri or Google assistant
Honestly, everything about this audio is great EXCEPT for the voice of Mrs. Dashwood. But it is so exceptionally bad that I don't know of I'll be able to get through the series.
The mother’s voice is interesting but tolerable after a time but Brandon having such a old voice makes you picture him as 60 when he’s really 35 which is kind of painful to the imagination who knows one thing and pictures another.
This is the ABSOLUTE WORST book reading I have ever listened to. Edward Ferrars sounds like an eighty year old. And don’t get me started on Mrs. Dashwood. Good book reduced to a level of... I dunno. I hated it.🤮

The content focuses on dramatic readings of Jane Austen's novel, 'Sense and Sensibility', exploring the lives of the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne, as they navigate love, loss, and social class in early 19th century England. Each episode delves into distinct chapters, presenting character dynamics, societal expectations, and emotional struggles faced by the sisters in the wake of their father's death and the limitations imposed by family obligations and wealth distribution. A notable aspect is the contrast between the sisters' differing personalities—Elinor's pragmatic approach to love versus Marianne's passionate nature—making the narration rich in character development and social commentary.
