David Summer plays Selected Duets for Flute. Using his home recording studio, David has recorded some of the duets from the book Selected Duets for Flute, Volume 1 Edited by H.Voxman. These flute duets are standard learning material for flute students taking flute lessons and can be fun to play for all flutists. In addition to being educational, the duets can also be used by two flutes in performa... more

Selected Duets for Flute, Page 68 Number 1e, Rigodon II from Sonata VI, Op.5, performed by David Summer. This second Rigodon presents a good opportunity for the teacher to talk about arpeggios, since the second flute part is littered with them. For b... more

I am so happy to have found this. I just started learning the flute as an adult about a month ago. Music is not innate to me. This is extremely helpful in helping me sound more musical. Also, it has given me a bar, perhaps unattainable, to strive to reach n terms of tone. Thanks!
I've been studying flute with David for 6 months now, and as an adult student I truly appreciate the thought and energy he puts into each lesson. These duets are one of the many ways he keeps you motivated and makes practice fun. Highly recommend!
What a treat to have discovered this well-known collection of flute duets in this format!! David Summer's production of this wonderful set of podcasts is most definitely the labor of love of one very talented musician and music educator. David's lively playing makes it easy and enjoyable to join in and be an active duet partner. I encourage David to produce more podcasts for the flute like these, as they are truly appreciated.
Good practice pieces. Nice playing.
Thanks for putting these recordings together! This must have taken a lot of time and effort. It's difficult to find someone to practice duets with...but now we have you! Please let me know when you get to Book II! :)
Both parts are recorded - so you can choose which part you want to play...or switch back and forth.
Fantastic for beginners!
