  • Thank you!

I really enjoy listening on my commute. I don’t use Apple so I don’t know if you get credit for a download when I listen on Podverse. But rest assured, I am listening.

Let’s face it, this team is no good! But if you’re going to listen to anything about Ute basketball, it should be this podcast which is consistently insightful, informative, funny and entertaining. Andrew’s takes are always on point, he books great guests and asks the right questions.

  • One of my favorite podcasts

I have been listening to the @RunninHoops podcast since day 1, and it delivers the content diehard Runnin’ Utes fans want and desire.

Andrew is both knowledable of the realities of the current program and provides excellent commentary on the state of college basketball.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 326: Parker Van Dyke
Q: Parker, how do you see the current state of Utah basketball under Coach Jensen, and what are your thoughts on the future for local recruits?
He believes Jensen is a strong players' coach with NBA insight, which should help recruit and develop local talent, and he sees a bright future if the program leans into the local talent and continues to build depth with experienced players joining and maturing together.
Episode 327: Lukas McCanna
Q: As far as commitments go, this one seemingly came out of left field. Can you maybe share the backstory on how you ended up at Utah?
Lukas describes being noticed during a live period in Mishawaka, a phone call from Team Loaded's director, and Coach Chill's outreach that eventually led to a spot for him at Utah after reclassifying to the 2026 class and then joining the program.
Episode 328: Chris Hines
Q: Chris, thanks for joining me. How would you describe your day-to-day role with the Timberwolves and how it has evolved since you started?
Hines explains that his role started with directing player development plans, focusing on individual and group work, and gradually shifting into an assistant coaching position while continuing to emphasize development, game understanding, and culture within the team.
Episode 322: Arman Jovic
Q: What is the farthest or the most remote place you have scouted a player from, and is there a country on the rise in terms of sending more players to the US?
Oceania stands out as the farthest region, with Brazil identified as a country on the rise for producing more players who reach the NCAA and pro levels, suggesting a growing pipeline and potential for more international talent flowing into the US college system.
Episode 319: Luke Nevill
Q: How did you balance playing style when the coach wanted defense first and you were an inside-oriented player?
Nevill recalls adapting to a system that emphasized defense and finishing around the basket, which pushed him to develop a mid-range game and improve as a post anchor.
