Unfortunately this is not a podcast to really explore new music.. if you’re a bit into new music the information they lay out in the podcast episodes are not new.. very unfortunate as the idea of the podcast is nice but it needs more than just desk research of the main media features
I like the artists they choose. I was full of excitement when i started listening to episodes about bonobo and actress. I really hoped i can learn something about the way the artists work. It came to me as a bummer as about 50% of the time is spent talking about random irrelevant stuff not or just loosely covering the artist. I might as well just sit into a coffee shop listening to some random folks chatting.
The one guy didn’t know any song names, hadn’t listened to all his albums, thought Radiohead was making music in the 70’s and knew nothing about the pixies. A host of a music podcast should know a lot better than that. It was an early episode so maybe it’s gotten better but I’m too rattled to try to listen to another one
