  • Good in parts

On balance worth listening to but you’ll have to get past all his culture wars anti-woke nonsense. And he has one or two pretty rancid guests on. Weirdly he has some very cool other guests on who have the polar opposite views to his religious conservatism and kudos for being quiet (and probably screaming inside) as they talk about diversity in the hobby

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Journey to the Fringes! Ft. Harmony Ginger!
Q: Do you think RPGs should have explicit villains, or should they merely have antagonists?
The best villains I've run were ones that were made on the fly, driven by player actions rather than pre-planned plots.
Journey to the Fringes! Ft. Harmony Ginger!
Q: What did you think about some of the figures that you were interacting with?
I never let people tell me who to interact with. I listen to what people say and judge based on that.
Journey to the Fringes! Ft. Harmony Ginger!
Q: How did you get into role-playing games?
I wasn't allowed to play them when I was growing up in a Southern Baptist household, which made me want to play them more. As soon as I turned 18, I joined a Dungeons and Dragons group.
Sixguns, Starships and Surmounting the Nonsense! Ft. Poncho Goblin.
Q: What are your thoughts on the Kickstarter drama around Questing Beast?
It's a complex issue revolving around prioritization of backers and transparency during the campaign.
Shadow of the Brutacorn! Ft. Ian McGarty!
Q: How does the faction play aspect work in your adventure?
There are rival gangs you encounter in the maze, and depending on how players interact, they could gain allies or face confrontations, adding depth to encounters.
