I am a 70 year old NZ citizen. I’ve lived in Aus for approximately 50 years.
I am finally finding out about our real NZ history which was never ever talked about.
What a tragedy. Our ancestors had committed such heinous crimes against Māori. I’m am sad, ashamed embarrassed that such tragedies occurred. Please continue to tell the truth re our history.

Wish I’d had these insights into our history when I was younger. I am fascinated with the events but also, as always in human conflict, filled with sadness and regret on the utter futility of war, ultimately caused by arrogance, ignorance, bigotry and avarice (British colonialism in this case, but all too human unfortunately).
