Many of the guests are the same ones doing self-promotion on social media. Saying the same thing on a podcast that they do on their posts. Unfortunately, it’s a lot of the same sound bites here.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

AI Industrialized the Vuln Lifecycle and Broke the System of Record
Q: What are your thoughts on the NVD and interagency coordination challenges?
Funding and coordination between NVD, CISA, and other agencies have historically impacted the quality and timeliness of enrichment and disclosure; improving transparency and funding is essential to prevent downstream harm to defenders relying on public data.
AI Industrialized the Vuln Lifecycle and Broke the System of Record
Q: How is AI changing the economics of vulnerability management?
AI creates demand by making discovery cheaper and more scalable, while also enabling faster remediation services; however, token costs and consumption-based pricing can incentivize a cycle where defenders pay more for more AI-enabled protection, affecting budgets and priorities.
AI Industrialized the Vuln Lifecycle and Broke the System of Record
Q: What do you see as the biggest bottleneck in the vulnerability lifecycle today?
Remediation and coordinated disclosure remain the bottleneck; discovering vulnerabilities is increasingly feasible with AI, but turning those findings into fixes and validated disclosures requires significant cross-team effort, coordination, and time.
You Don't Need A Frontier Model to Find Zero Days
Q: What role does regulation play in driving better security outcomes, and can liability or incentives shift change at large organizations?
Regulation can help align incentives, but the deeper shifts require changing corporate incentives and capabilities; mechanisms like NIS2 may push boards toward accountability, enabling security engineers to work more closely with infrastructure teams.
You Don't Need A Frontier Model to Find Zero Days
Q: Why is the frontier-model focus potentially misguided for vulnerability discovery, and how do orchestration and finite-state workflows help?
Frontier models aren't required; a well-structured orchestration around smaller models with a clear hypothesis-generation and analysis pipeline can efficiently uncover new vulnerabilities, especially when you box the tasks into staged prompts and contexts.
