  • Not a fan of

Many of the guests are the same ones doing self-promotion on social media. Saying the same thing on a podcast that they do on their posts. Unfortunately, it’s a lot of the same sound bites here.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Securing the Agentic SDLC
Q: Do you think DevSecOps as practiced today will survive in the agentic SDLC era?
DevSecOps in its current form may be architecturally unnecessary if agents become primary code authors. Security will likely move toward a model where an autonomous, policy-driven security layer runs with agents, focusing on architectural decisions and trust boundaries rather than gatekeeping every line of code.
Securing the Agentic SDLC
Q: How is this changing the workload and organization of AppSec teams and the broader DevSecOps approach?
Remediation remains a bottleneck; AI speeds up generation and vulnerability discovery, but the time to fix issues is shortened. Organizations will need new governance, higher emphasis on policy, and perhaps agent-based execution layers that enable security to operate at the speed of development without becoming bottlenecks.
Securing the Agentic SDLC
Q: From your perspective, what are you seeing in the market given more AI-assisted development and faster cycle times?
AI coding tools are accelerating code volume and changing risk profiles; however, they also introduce insecure-generated code and create new supply chain and credential risks. AppSec teams must adapt to the faster pace by embedding security into the generation process and strengthening guardrails, as traditional post-fact analysis is no longer sufficient.
Identity as Infrastructure in the Agentic Era
Q: What is the most dangerous thing teams are doing right now to bridge the gap between current IAM and agentic IAM, and what is the minimum viable posture?
He emphasizes moving toward federation and dynamic, runtime delegation rather than vaulting static tokens, advocating for continuity, auditability, and a reference architecture to guide the evolving practice.
Identity as Infrastructure in the Agentic Era
Q: Is AOAuth the protocol agentic identity should bet on, or should we expect OAuth extensions and a mixed approach?
Karl explains that AOAuth is interesting but unproven at scale and argues for a pragmatic crawl-walk-run approach that leverages OAuth today while developing extensions and potentially new protocols for mission-bound open-world scenarios.
