Back in the summer of 2008, Josh and Anthony watched the first two seasons of Friday Night Lights in Anthony's basement. Now, over a decade after their first time through the series, older, wiser, and balder, Josh and Anthony rewatch the series and talk through each episode, examining and evaluating as they go. Listen and watch along as they revisit one of the best TV Dramas of all time, Friday Ni... more

I’m not gonna lie, really didn’t know what expect with this re watch podcasts. I’ve only watched FNL once through when I caught it included with Prime and really wanted something to listen to after as I couldn’t find anyone else who’d watched it (I’m in the UK). Found this and have listened to 8 episodes in one day and it’s made me smile and laugh throughout. They don’t take themselves too seriously and clearly enjoyed the show. Looking forward to listening to the end.
Always wanted to watch Friday Night Lights just never got around to it. Then the pandemic hit and I decided to finally do it. Along the way I found the perfect podcast to along with it. Josh and Anthony mix humor with deep knowledge and love for this great show.
I started listening to this podcast about a year ago with my second rewatch of FNL. Josh and Anthony have great rapport and I feel like they have become my pals that I've never met. I enjoy their banter, side stories and the personal details they bring to the podcast. They also give good insight and opinions on the show. I especially appreciate and fully agree with their Alien Baby Gracie theory. Highly recommend this podcast for fans of FNL!
Had the urge to rewatch the show and I found the podcast looking for commentary. Great banter. 5 Grain Belts.
I love FNL and wanted a podcast to follow as I rewatch. I enjoy their take and like the ratings they give (Coach Taylor Inspo-rating, Buddy sleaze-ball moment, etc.). The only thing I would change is the edit. I know to automatically skip about 10 minutes at the beginning, but there are times when the small talk lasts for almost 20 minutes, and digressions during the episode happen frequently as well. Otherwise, I enjoy it!
I found this podcast while watching FNL on Netflix in order to share the experience of watching and loving the show. After listening to quite a few episodes, I have come to love listening to your recaps, opinions/speculations, and tangents (and even the “Anthony gets political segments”). Y’all are super fun and witty and when you finish FNL, I hope you continue with another show (I’ll give you some suggestions🤞) or maybe just start over again. 😄 Please keep doing what you’re doing as you’v... more
I really enjoy this podcast. I’ve watched the series through 4 times and they’ve brought new things to my attention such as notable music and outdated pop culture references. I knew I’d like it when they introduced the Julie Taylor hate-o-meter.
We watch FNL. It’s both great and ridiculous at times. This podcast is hilarious and breaks down a lot of the far fetched stuff that goes on including Why IS buddy allowed at every practice? Lila’s cliche religious themes, a beer count for Riggings and of course baby Alien Gracie.
These guys are hysterical. I am not cultural and find myself googling their millennial phrase. I love their awards for each episode. I feel like I could have a beverage of the week!&
Listening to hosts Josh and Anthony feels like tuning into a Dillon radio station on game day... filled with passion, small town charm, and laughs. They offer the perfect blend of structured segments, and off-the-cuff banter... makes it easy to follow. Their personal connection to the show is charming (one of them named their dog Riggins 🐶) — they know how to honor the show that we all love through their commentary, while also teasing and analyzing the characters and plot lines (or plot holes).... more
Podcast rewatches are my new favorite thing. I accidentally stumbled upon Reliving The Lights and started rewatching FNL for probably the 6th time to watch along every week. You guys are doing a great job and can’t wait to see where this goes.
Let me know if you’re looking for a guest host!
I’ve been rewatching the series and was stoked to find this podcast to aid my journey. The hosts are thorough and informative and I’ve enjoyed it so far.
One comment for the hosts. I played QB in HS. And I was a backup on one of our teams that was a state runner up. So the only part of the show that is a bit unrealistic to me is Matt Saracen. Not his story, but the kid playing him looks nothing like an athlete. Especially on a 5A team in Texas. No way this kid even sniffs the field. But other... more
