  • Volume… :-(

Hi guys - well done on the podcast, enjoy the hobby so I enjoy the podcast. Re your volume it’s very low, I suspect you’re over compressing it before uploading or something. Makes it hard to listen to depending on where you are on the move…

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 200: Listener Questions and Other Stuff
Q: What is the entry barrier for getting into actual turbine jets, is it possible to do it for under 3K?
To go as cheap as you can, look for something used, obviously, but you're probably going to be closer to five-ish, I would say, 5,000 in order to get started in it.
Ep 200: Listener Questions and Other Stuff
Q: Is the learning curve of OpenTX, EdgeTX actually worth a headache, or are people just nerding out over cheap hardware?
If you like the tinkering and playing and learning all that kind of stuff, go with that. If you want a fully customizable radio, you can just sign every knob and switch button to do 15 different things, go for it.
Ep 200: Listener Questions and Other Stuff
Q: What is actually the holy grail for repairing foam without melting it or adding 10 pounds of weight?
For me, if I'm not in a hurry, the Foamtack is the way to go for any repairs or building with foam. I really like the Foamtack product.
Ep 200: Listener Questions and Other Stuff
Q: If you were starting today with zero experience and a hundred bucks, what exactly would you do?
I would definitely get more than a hundred bucks. If you bump that up to maybe twice that, my recommendation would be the Hobby Zone Aero Scout.
Ep 195: Greg Stone, Candidate for AMA President
Q: What is your vision for the AMA?
Stone aims to refocus on youth involvement, educational programs, and collaboration to enhance the model aviation community and ensure its growth.
