Five years, 160 stories, one increasingly suspicious Randomizer. Pull To Open has reached the exact midpoint of its mad dash through all of Doctor Who, so Pete and Chris are taking a break from the usual TL;DW chaos to ask the big questions: How did ... more
September 7, 1987: a date that lives in Doctor Who infamy—at least for Chris, who rage-quit the show the moment Time and the Rani introduced the Seventh Doctor in the most cursed way imaginable. Bad wigs, mangled aphorisms, quarry overload, neon over... more
The Sea Devils should be an all-timer: the Master returns, the Navy shows up, the Doctor tries to broker peace, and the monsters have one of the most iconic “emerging from the sea” entrances ever. And yet… why do we learn so little about Sea Devil so... more
Pull To Open goes on location! Pete and Chris hit Gallifrey One in Los Angeles as total Gally virgins, gawping at “chemicals on fire” sunsets, accidentally learning how expensive fandom can be, and collecting hot takes like they’re limited-edition pr... more

It’s a shame a bunch of their episodes are missing - luckily a bunch have now been animated. You mentioned recently that Polly was never given a last name in the show. I’m currently reading “The Roundheads” by Mark Gatiss which has the “fantastic four”featured. Gatiss has Polly state her last name was “Wright” under interrogation. Does that make it canon?
Interesting in that, of course, original (reluctant) companion Barbara also had that last name!
Looking forward to hearing you guys do... more
As I was listening to the latest episode of Pull To Open - the podcast of two excellent journalists watching and reacting to Doctor Who in random order - around the 10:42 mark, it occurred that I had not yet expressed my appreciation on the Apple podcast app.
If you like Doctor Who, fan theories, behind the scenes perspectives, and a lot of laughs, listen and subscribe.

Discovered this podcast a year and a half ago as part of rediscovering my passion for all things Who and re-watching the classic series with my girlfriend. Has become a highlight of my week when a new episode drops. Resubmitting my Whomoji Challenge here as suggested: 👩🏻🏹🆚👨🏻🦳🔫🆚🤖🛸➡️☄️🗽

Hello, Gentlemen. Ct. Tigg here. Once again making a brief greeting before running off to one of the dozen fan panels I foolishly agreed to moderate.
You asked, and so you shall receive. A new batch of whomojis. My wife, A Merry Berry, is also working on a fresh crop as well.
Are best days as whomoji artists are behind us, but now in no particular order…

A fast-paced, humor-rich deep-dive into Doctor Who across eras, presented by two journalists who relish the show's breadth and quirks. Episodes feature rapid story summaries, playful segments (Whomoji challenges, emoji-based summaries), and thoughtful discussions about storytelling choices, representation, and canon connections, all delivered with a collaborative banter that fans describe as engaging and knowledgeable. The format's randomness—reviewing stories in a non-sequential order—offers fresh cross-era perspectives and surprising links, making it appealing to both longtime fans and newcomers curious about the franchise's scope.
A standout is the consistent chemistry between hosts, their willingness to mix rigorous analysis with light... more
