  • Much-needed philosophy for professionals, or anyone

There are many podcasts available about business basics, but few that cover the mental and emotional elements of business life. These philosophical elements are the root of all we do, yet little attention is focused here. Every episode of Tola Alabi’s podcast is different, deep and meaningful. I have found something in every episode that either gives me a new perspective, or solidifies something I felt that I knew. It is both thought-provoking and practical. I highly recommend this podcast.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Dynamics of Rich and Poor: God and Your Economic Status
Q: What should be the mind frame of the poor youth coming from a poor home?
Resting in the routine, avoiding frantic striving, and trusting that life can unfold through simple, consistent actions rather than forcing solutions.
The Creative, The Client & The Consumer: Making a Good Product
Q: So, I have this question here from Doin. And Doin is saying, I have had clients who ask us to edit their jobs in very unprofessional ways. Some insist on doing their designs in a way that conflicts with the principles of design.
The host explains that while client control can be strong, the focus must stay on end users and empathetic design. Push back on ego-driven requests with rationale grounded in how the design helps real people purchase and engage with the product, and steer discussions toward what will actually benefit end users and the brand in the long run.
Parents, Pressure and Purpose: Finding Your True Path
Q: What books would you advise for someone in their twenties seeking understanding of life, spirituality, personal development, and general life wisdom?
Three books are recommended: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Good Life by Charles Carlson, and The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren; each offers perspectives on purpose, spirituality, and the balance between following inner leading and external expectations.
The Key to Living Purposefully & Finding Fulfilment In Life
Q: What is the role of higher education today, and how should young people prepare for real-life success?
Higher education should be one path among many; with information widely available online, learning is no longer confined to universities, and true preparation comes from practical experience, self-directed learning, and building networks.
The Concept of "Making It" in Life
Q: What advice would you give to someone aged 18 to 27 trying to navigate pressure around money, passion, and entrepreneurship?
Acknowledge that they are victims of a world shaped by upbringing and trauma, give themselves time, and pursue what aligns with who they are and whom they want to serve. Focus on consistency, patience, and feeding their minds with value-driven content rather than chasing quick, external rewards; understand that wealth is not the sole measure of success and that true impact often comes from helping others and living with integrity.
