Love the podcast but this guest is very hard to listen to and appreciate his arguments. His belief that cultural appropriation is necessary and an overall good that must be supported and perpetuated to continue the efficacy of his beliefs and rituals is a hard pill to swallow. I’m no historian but the violence and manipulation necessary to bring his religious beliefs to power cannot be separated from the celebratory nature of the holidays themselves and the dichotomy therein.
