  • Love Power Tools

I have been listening to Power Tools since 1993 and I have been hooked ever since. I listen to it every morning on my way to work, it’s like a ritual. Richard V is one of my favorite DJ’s of all time among others and I will continue to listen to Power Tools for as long as I am alive!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 228: Powertools ft: MichaelBM and Richard Vission
Q: What moment convinced you Latin House could work for you and the crowd?
Carnage's clip of Muevolo showed the crowd's response and confirmed that Latin house was resonating, which gave me the confidence to pursue this direction fully.
Episode 228: Powertools ft: MichaelBM and Richard Vission
Q: You mentioned Latin House needs more Latinos; why is building your label important for the culture?
The label helps discover and push new Latino artists, creating a supportive ecosystem that can sustain a broader movement rather than relying on a few individuals.
Episode 228: Powertools ft: MichaelBM and Richard Vission
Q: So you're producing first, not even thinking about DJing; you were just focused on making music?
Yes, I started as a drummer and composer, and I realized the only way to share my music was to DJ and perform it live, which sparked my transition into DJing and producing in clubs.
Episode 227: Powertools ft: Doc Martin and Richard Vission
Q: Talk to us about some of your programming techniques and how you still apply them to keep energy up during a set.
Doc Martin explains that momentum and maintaining energy levels are key, using deliberate shifts to avoid a drop in energy by pulling back slightly before the next big moment, a technique influenced by experiences in London and New York and refined over decades.
Episode 226: Powertools ft: ELI & FUR and Richard Vission
Q: Outside of the US, what are some of your favorite places to play?
They name Fabric in London and Watergate in Berlin as favorite rooms, noting their history and how the spaces suit their melodic, intelligent approach to house music.
