  • Best sales podcast

I've listened to quite a few sales podcasts, and this one takes the cake. Best guests, best questions that lead to the best insights and actionable tips. I mean.... Simon Sinek? Jeb Blount? How do you land these guests?? I would pay lots of money for the information you give for free. Please never ever stop doing this podcast.

  • So insightful - amazing tips for getting great at telling our story - or ‘pitching’

I truly feel this podcast is a must listen to anybody, who has a story to tell and wants to learn from some of the worlds best coaches and presenters, about how to deliver with confidence, tell your story, and be the very best you can be.

I particularly liked the Neil Mullarkey episode

  • Must listen

This is my favourite podcast. Danny and the guests will help you get better at pitching, story telling and surfacing creative ways of sharing your ideas with the world. I have learned so much to help me win prioritization battles. Unexpectedly, my son (14 year old) is also interested as he listens in the car with me - I know he took away many great tips on presentation and story telling as well. Keep it up Danny!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S2 E09 VIDEO VERSION: Gina Balarin, Author, Advisor and TEDx Speaker
Q: And the first question I ask all my guests is, if people haven't heard of you, how do you pitch yourself?
Gina describes her childhood immersion in storytelling, her transition from marketing to communications, and how language and emotion have always driven her work. She emphasizes authenticity, personal narrative, and a focus on how she can help others master storytelling and leadership moments.
S2 E08 VIDEO VERSION: Atif Rafiq, Former McDonald’s, Amazon, and MGM exec, author of Decision Sprint
Q: What makes for a standout pitch in high-stakes environments like McDonald's boardroom?
Leading with thorough detective work, showing you've engaged the right stakeholders, and presenting a robust narrative that connects strategic goals to tangible, measurable outcomes—while maintaining calm and clarity in the room.
S2 E08 VIDEO VERSION: Atif Rafiq, Former McDonald’s, Amazon, and MGM exec, author of Decision Sprint
Q: What distinguishes an effective corporate transformation from a great one?
It starts with conviction and a clear vision, but scale comes from inviting input and co-creating with others, then turning skepticism into action through structured problem-solving and evidence-based decisions.
S2 E08 VIDEO VERSION: Atif Rafiq, Former McDonald’s, Amazon, and MGM exec, author of Decision Sprint
Q: How did you approach pitching yourself early in your career when you had no network?
I leaned into hunger, sent cold emails, and treated every interaction as a chance to prove I could solve real problems. Preparation and a willingness to learn quickly carried the conversations forward, and the proof was in the numbers and the clarity of the opportunity.
S2 E07 VIDEO VERSION: Melody Wilding, Executive Coach and Author of Managing Up
Q: When is the right time to mention money in a pitch?
There isn't one universal rule; it depends on your context. You should align the pricing discussion with your approach, possibly stating a concrete price early to filter for fit or slipping it in later with a framing that emphasizes fairness and future value.
