This show deserves more accolades than most. The characters are have realistic backstories, moral codes, and dilemmas, with a story that is gripping from start to finish, infused with beautiful cinematography and fantastic musical score. Recommended this show to numerous people and have yet to hear a negative response. If you're looking for a smart TV show that is anything but formulaic, watch this Perry Mason.

For some reason the original was not used. Instead they re-wrote all the characters and the premise. Why? Pure laziness on the part of HBO. Why not be honest and create your own characters and story?

It is hard not to love the Perry Mason series on HBO. It is hard to listen to this review/recap of it. This podcast is definitely about murder. It murders the English language. It murders the knowledge of history. Last week you misstated the iconic Della Street’s name and I forgave you. But seriously, not knowing about the crazy Aimee Semple McPherson’s church in 1920-30’s LA is unforgivable. She is obviously the inspiration for HBO’s pastor. Good grief.
