  • Best in DC

Genuinely doesn’t get better in DC. Pastor is clever, deeply curious, and is able to share his interest in history, philosophy and biblical wisdom. His analysis is always put in context for the times and culture, epistemology, other translations, and draws on all Fields including science. You’ll want to take notes. Reminds me of Tim Chaddick, and Rick Warren in that way.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Further In | Acts 12
Q: How would you counsel someone who prays persistently but struggles to believe God will move?
The guidance centers on two motivations: reflecting on God's character to anchor prayer and creating tangible reminders of God's faithfulness (Ebenezer-like monuments) to build confidence for future prayers. The idea is to keep praying even when outcomes are uncertain, recognizing that God can move in ways that surpass our expectations and that perseverance in prayer shapes faith.
Further In | Acts 4:32-5:11
Q: What would you say to someone who finds themselves with the pet sin of lying, trying to be valued or liked?
We often lie because we want to be impressive and liked, which leads to the realization that if we're not finding our worth in God, we will seek it elsewhere.
Further In | Acts 4:23-31
Q: What are some practical ways to engage with people about faith?
Engage with questions to understand their story and share faith in a gentle way, balancing conversation without being overly forceful.
Further In | Acts 3-4:22
Q: How do you navigate conversations where beliefs about salvation differ?
The most loving thing I can do in this moment is say, no, I do believe Jesus is the only way.
Further In | Acts 2:42-47
Q: What would you say to someone who wants to go beyond just knowledge of God's Word and struggle to practice it daily?
To move from knowledge to practice, focus on communal understanding of the Word and allow relationships to challenge you and bring application to your faith.
