  • Solid preaching of the gospel

Ben and team continuously speak God’s truth in a loving, honest and factual manner. I’m grateful for this podcast that encourages me to dig deeper in my faith. I do not live in DC, and this is not my home church, but I love listening on a weekly basis. Listening to Ben is like listening to a friend speak Gods truth to me from a loving and caring place.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Further In | 1 Thessalonians 1
Q: How does the local church context shape gospel proclamation?
They emphasize preaching with the people in front of you, drawing from real-life examples in the congregation, and letting community realities drive practical application.
Further In | 1 Thessalonians 1
Q: What led you to focus on this passage for the sermon?
The speaker explains it connects to the church's lived experience—how a community in Thessalonica grew under persecution and how their ordinary faithfulness illustrated the gospel at work in daily life.
Further In | Acts 12
Q: How would you counsel someone who prays persistently but struggles to believe God will move?
The guidance centers on two motivations: reflecting on God's character to anchor prayer and creating tangible reminders of God's faithfulness (Ebenezer-like monuments) to build confidence for future prayers. The idea is to keep praying even when outcomes are uncertain, recognizing that God can move in ways that surpass our expectations and that perseverance in prayer shapes faith.
Further In | Acts 4:32-5:11
Q: What would you say to someone who finds themselves with the pet sin of lying, trying to be valued or liked?
We often lie because we want to be impressive and liked, which leads to the realization that if we're not finding our worth in God, we will seek it elsewhere.
Further In | Acts 4:23-31
Q: What are some practical ways to engage with people about faith?
Engage with questions to understand their story and share faith in a gentle way, balancing conversation without being overly forceful.
