  • Great relatable duo

I thoroughly enjoy the podcast. Jake and Kris make a great pair with a balance of perspective. But for the love of god, Joel Feder is insufferable, please minimize his appearances. He sounds like a child thatthatthatthatthat skipped his Ritalin and thinks his opinion is fact. I can’t be alone in skipping the episodes where he is “featured”

He’s got a voice for writing. He should stick to that, I’ll continue to not read any of it anyway

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Betim Berisha / What the Mountain Takes
Q: Do you feel like this is the natural evolution for BBi? And what you... Well, it's obviously a separate company now, but technically, is this the natural evolution for you guys?
Betim explains there were two schools of thought: evolving from an iterative shop into a halo product that leverages new materials and manufacturing tech, while maintaining the core silos of BBi. He emphasizes balancing the excitement of new development with the need to set up a scalable, legally solid business structure, including potential outside investment and production planning for a 50-car rollout.
Chris Ashton / Ruffian Cars
Q: How did your early experiences with Counter-Strike and Left 4 Dead influence Ruffian's approach to design and collaboration?
The emphasis on prototypes, function-first design, and iterative playtest feedback from the gaming world carried over to Ruffian, where projects are pursued with a similar mindset: build, test, and refine toward a finished product that performs well as a driving experience.
Chris Ashton / Ruffian Cars
Q: What period of time are we talking about when you started moving from game development to starting Ruffian?
The shift occurred gradually after the THQ bankruptcy and the subsequent sale of Evolve; the team pivoted from reliance on big publishers to pursuing independent, client-driven car builds, treating Ruffian as a vehicle to realize long-standing automotive passions beyond the screen.
Harrison Schoen / Living Small is Thinking Big
Q: What do you think is the limit for you? Are you just trying to find it, or is there something you're aiming towards?
Schoen hopes to explore his capabilities during his journey across South America and aims to gather stories to share later in life.
Harrison Schoen / Living Small is Thinking Big
Q: What kind of spurned this trip on? Why are you doing it?
Schoen explains that the inspiration for his two-year journey came from conversations with fellow adventurers, leading him to realize that with the right resources, anyone can explore the world with their vehicle.
