Reviews

4.5 out of 5 stars from 13 ratings
  • Why?

Hard to understand why WA police are getting involved in tabloid-style media as a priority. As a taxpayer it feels like they’re trying to compete with PerthNow. What are they going to do when a case that questions police conduct comes up? Or reflects badly on a government agency? Silly decision.

  • Innovative

Great to see WA Police Media continue its history of innovation. A strong first episode. Can you sustain quality though on a weekly cycle? Perhaps monthly might be best. But a great new informational opportunity for the public. Well done.

Ep 14 - Taz joins the show! K9, Digital Forensics and Courtroom Drama... - WA POLICE FORCE PODCAST
Q: Can you give us an example of a case where evidence from a vehicle played a key role in securing a conviction?
In the Ning-related case, investigators used vehicle data and canister weights to reconstruct usage and then a reenactment at court helped prove the driver's actions beyond doubt, leading to conviction and a suspended sentence.
Ep 14 - Taz joins the show! K9, Digital Forensics and Courtroom Drama... - WA POLICE FORCE PODCAST
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about what police prosecutors do and how are they different from a prosecutor that works for the DPP?
Police prosecutors handle the majority of prosecutions in lower courts, work directly for the police, and act as officers of the court to bring cases to trial and manage bail and interim applications.
Ep 03 - Bikie Wars - WA POLICE FORCE PODCAST
Q: What was the nature of the sit-down between Nick Martin and Dane Brakovich?
It was a tense club-business meeting with unclear outcomes, possibly around tattoo shop arrangements or other alliances; it demonstrated how alliances within and between gangs could deteriorate and provoke violence.
Ep 03 - Bikie Wars - WA POLICE FORCE PODCAST
Q: How did defectors influence the gang landscape in WA?
Defections created inter-club friction and wars, with members moving between Rebels, Comancheros, and Mongols, often tied to fees, loyalty, and territorial control, fueling violence and strategic manoeuvres.
Ep 04 - Bikie Wars Part 2 - WA POLICE FORCE PODCAST
Q: How did you balance rapid action with the need to protect the integrity of the homicide investigation?
By de-conflicting search warrants and other investigative actions with the homicide squad, documenting every step, and slowly narrowing down evidence while ensuring that actions did not compromise the broader investigation.
