  • The Reiwa Generation Wrong Boys

Two incredibly knowledgeable and passionate workhorses for hosts, Case and Mike add an incredibly detailed sports report style of analysis to Dragon Gate. Though niche, if you have even a passing interest in the promotion this is the first step in opening the gate for English speaking fans. Even outside of Dragon Gate, the Jae episodes are extremely insightful for English speakers looking into the Japanese scene. Their DGUSA episodes are also very fun for anyone with a nostalgia itch for the 201... more

  • Outstanding coverage of an under-covered promotion

This podcast is second to none when it comes to English-speaking Dragongate coverage. Mike and Case have a wealth of knowledge, and do a great job of conveying this when discussing the latest DG events, as well as retro content. The podcast is a great companion for any English-speaking Dragongate fan, and really helps me in following the product.

  • Open the listen Gate

Two hosts that are extremely knowledgeable over all things Dragongate. Their passion for the promotion is very clear, and their format for the shows flow very well. If you are looking to get into Dragongate, they're aren't many podcasts out there that do it any better. It's Red Leaf Retrocast 2, and OTVG as a clear number 1.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Open The Voice Gate - SSW - The Shun Skywalker Retrospective
Q: Did you always expect Shun to get the big baby-face run at the end, or were there signs it would go differently?
They reflect that expectations varied but acknowledge Skywalker's trajectory toward a high-profile exit, with one host suggesting Skywalker's creative control helped steer his later booking, while the other notes the company's broader influence on that arc.
Open The Voice Gate - SSW - The Shun Skywalker Retrospective
Q: Is there any realistic scenario where Shun could join New Japan in a positive way, perhaps in House of Torture or another faction?
They discuss possibilities and express skepticism about a favorable outcome, noting that Shun would bring strong in-ring work but question whether the character fit and promotion alignment would allow him to flourish as a heel leader in NJPW.
Open The Voice Gate - SSW - The Shun Skywalker Retrospective
Q: What kind of career are we talking about for Shun if he never turned heel?
The hosts speculate that a non-heel Skywalker might have produced a different career arc, but they acknowledge how the heel-turn era ultimately unlocked his most compelling charisma and booking potential, suggesting that the path he took was pivotal to his legacy.
Open The Voice Gate: Tournament Edition!
Q: What make this tournament feel different compared to others in the past?
This tournament has seen a significant number of injuries among key talent and a busy touring schedule, which has created an atmosphere of unpredictability.
Open The Voice Gate - Gate of Revolution, Brave Gate, Mante vs Jason, ISHIN & Minoura!
Q: Do you have a favorite match that you've had?
My favorite match is November 2011, at King of Gate.
