  • Interesting topics but

The hosts are too over the top with the voices and noises they make. It’s nonstop and doesn’t add anything to the listening experience. It’s distracting and annoying after a while to the point where further listening is not an option.

  • Your censoring/bleeping is stupid

When you’re telling the stories, you’re bleeping words like cancer …. But the episode I listened to beforehand you were dropping F bombs left and right. Why do you need to censor anything?!? You’re not on broadcast television. Please explain why can’t you say cancer? I’d love to hear the reasoning behind that. Sometimes listening to this podcast is unbearable. I think I’m gonna give it up

  • Used to love it

I used to love it but unfortunately they started adding therapists on the show and it kinda threw me off. I’m a therapist myself and I don’t love the fact that you have professionals analyzing people that aren’t their clients on a Reddit reading podcasts. It feels… icky. Especially when the therapists mention their own clients.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

I almost lost EVERYTHING because of booze! | Reddit Stories | ft. Nick Holt | EP2616
Q: How do you balance honesty with practical steps when someone is in a tough career or personal situation?
Be honest about limitations while focusing on achievable goals, like updating resumes, volunteering, or pursuing targeted skills. Career steps can be used as a form of rebuilding self-efficacy alongside therapy and support.

Q: How should someone approach starting therapy or engaging with resources when they feel uncertain?
Begin with small, actionable steps: seek credible resources, consider outpatient options, and gradually increase commitment with a trusted professional. It's about sustaining momentum through ongoing engagement, not relying on a single session for transformation.
I almost lost EVERYTHING because of booze! | Reddit Stories | ft. Nick Holt | EP2616
Q: What tools would you give a person to become more dependable on themselves rather than their past?
Recognize that change comes from understanding patterns, building safe, curiosity-driven dialogue, and creating a plan grounded in the person's background. Therapy should empower the individual to explore, rather than be told what to do, while offering concrete steps and support networks.
My boyfriend and I have mismatched needs and it's making me guilty! | Reddit Stories | ft. K’hara McKinney | EP2607
Q: How can you identify your attachment style?
Look for persistent fears of losing a partner, constant anxiety in negotiations, and patterns of either clinging or withdrawing; secure attachment shows healthier boundaries and communication.
