As winter fades into memory in the northern hemisphere, many breathe sighs of relief, looking forward to longer days and the warmth of the sun inviting time spent outside. But some are not so excited, hanging on to the wisps of winter with its long c... more
This episode is about the only mammal that can fly, one that's reviled, but actually pretty darned gentle, unlike in the vampire stories that sprung up around it. But it's also about the dogged man who's been working on saving them for the last 65 ye... more

Brilliant show concept -stories of the night; spanning from ancient hidden cave art in France to interviews of people in an Oakland donut shop at 3am. Each episode is its own little world, transporting you to something so far sways and foreign, yet so familiar. Vanessa the host is an expert storyteller, and does a fabulous job of making little movies for your ears. This is my absolute favorite podcast and I’m like an evangelical, spreading the word to any who will listen :)
The stories and soundscapes envelope you like a blanket of night. Great for walking, driving at night. I’ve felt seen by a few of these stories, which was a wonderful experience.
… that I both appear on it (the episode I Don’t Get Lost), and happily support it via Patreon. more
Beautifully told stories.
I just found this show and it’s nearly perfect at helping me wind down the day. The story telling feels meticulously told. This show has a similar feeling as Rumble Strip, This Is Love, Here Be Monsters. So glad I found this show! Please keep making this show… you’re making beautiful art!
