  • A Different Take

The Nerd Nest podcast falls within my lineup of 5 video games podcasts that I listen to regularly. I particularly enjoy this podcast because it strikes a different beat than many of the other podcasts out there in my opinion. Bill and friends often discuss topics that get minimized or completely left out of other gaming related podcasts. I love hearing about the more niche topics they get into on the Nerd Nest podcast.

  • Talk about games, not OSes

Used to really like this podcast, but you spend so much time lately talking about OSes and griping. Focus on the games guys, unless you want to call this The Nerd Nest - An OS Podcast.

  • Keep your politics out of gaming

In the latest podcast the host regrets buying the modretro not because it’s a bad device but because it was created by Palmer Luck, who’s politics he doesn’t like. Well if you are going to boycott a product for that I’ll gladly boycott your podcast. I wish people would just stick to gaming in this stuff.

  • I wish it was better

I would love a podcast for this corner of gaming since it’s so under served, but this podcast seems so half baked. Half of the topics have the host and guests saying “I don’t know” or “I don’t play those games” - okay then why are you talking about that? Is it too much to ask for a podcast to feel like there’s prep involved? Perhaps even having more than knee jerk reactions, maybe a bit of self reflection? Tiresome and every episode I listen to falls into the same category.

I think it's an excellent handheld PC and a lousy Xbox, basically. It has a better processor, but the full screen experience is underwhelming compared to the regular Windows experience.
