ORFSeit 2013 veranstaltet das Mauthausen Komitee Österreich auf dem Wiener Heldenplatz jeweils am 8. Mai das Fest der Freude zum Gedenken an das Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Teil des Programms sind Festreden prominenter Autorinnen und Autoren. Ansprachen aus den Jahren seit 2015 hat die Schauspielerin und Präsentatorin am Wiener Heldenplatz, Katharina Stemberger, jetzt für Ö1 neu eingelesen.
