  • Quantity is not quality

Been a listener for a couple of months now, and I’ve drawn some conclusions: first, SI seems to be more interested in being first with their content instead of being the best, and it shows in this slapdash podcast. Second, the host spends more time defending his credentials as an analyst and putting down sports consumers than he does talking about the team. He’d have more time for valuable analysis if he would ditch his habit of using ten words when five would suffice, and the grammar and dictio... more

  • Big Blue Breakdown-Great, A Giant Issue-No

Big blue breakdown with Paul Dotino is great. Very informative, good insight from somebody that’s actually on the practice field up close and has some insider information. A Giant Issue I find is very negative towards the Giants most of the time. Negative opinions on the GM, coach and the quarterback. kind of parroting what the national media has to say. The name of the podcast should tell you how he feels about the Giants to begin with. It sounds like he has an issue with the Giants and uses hi... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

CBS' Taylor: Mauigoa the start of something big for NY Giants' OL
Q: What advice would you give him in terms of handling the pressure of the first round and expectations in New York?
Focus on doing your job, stay within the process, and don't let the heat or external pressure derail your performance; the responsibility is on the coaching staff and organization to support him as he develops.
CBS' Taylor: Mauigoa the start of something big for NY Giants' OL
Q: I'd like to get your capsule thumbnail as to what you think about him as a player and if you think the value for him was right at 10.
Maui Noa has the size, strength, and demeanor to anchor the interior; he can handle bull rushes and fit well at guard, making a strong case for the 10th pick given the Giants' need to protect their franchise quarterback and run the ball effectively.
How much more can the NY Giants do in free agency?
Q: And where do you think they could still go to maybe get some more cash if they wanted to sign more players?
Patty explains that the Giants have limited cap space but can consider extending or restructure options for players like Dexter Lawrence or Jung veterans, use post-June 1 moves, and target short-term, veteran salary benefit deals to maintain flexibility through the season.
Here's who the NY Giants will draft with the No. 5 pick ...
Q: What was your reasoning for projecting a guard/inside tackle fit if the Giants select an offensive lineman at five?
Guard and interior tackle versatility can maximize the value of a top-five pick by giving the Giants flexibility to address multiple spots on the line, protecting Thomas and freeing up other blockers to shore up the frontline for Dart.
Here's who the NY Giants will draft with the No. 5 pick ...
Q: Would you consider moving down from five to acquire additional day-two picks, and what would you target in that case?
Yes, a slight move down could be smart to pick up extra day-two assets, especially to address edge and secondary depth, with the plan to still land a high-impact starter later in the process, while maintaining the ability to react to how the board unfolds.
