  • Embarrassing

I tried this show for more than a year. There was occasionally an interesting topic, but too often the discussion was completely uninformed and therefore uninformative. It’s actually embarrassing, considering.

  • Biased, fun review of all things new in podcasting

Sure they're old school, like ground floor old school. Sure they are biased towards their respective companies' approach to podcasting. But they care about us. A lot. And it shows. I listen to keep up with the cutting edge of the industry and I listen to relax. It's not a show for everyone, but I'm not "everyone" and I enjoy hearing from those who fight to improve our community. It's fun to get to know some of the most passionate and influential people in the podcasting space as real people!

  • All about New Media - Love it!

Todd and Rob are a wealth of knowledge when it comes to podcasting. I like the offer for a NMx VIP! Todd thanks for posting on Podcaster’s Master Mind. The discussion of equipment and of millennials is very interesting. Reference to sound, Todd sound is very good but Rob is slightly distorted.

  • I tried, I left.

Old ‘casters clearly out of touch w/modern tech, methods, and workflow. I compare against other successful podcast, this is not a contender.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are Podcast Networks becoming Creator Networks? | Greg Wasserman #666
Q: What role will AI play in networks and content creation going forward?
AI is being used across scripts, ads, production, and distribution, with optimism about efficiency and scale but concern about authenticity and human connection. The guests discuss AI-generated voices, labeling, and the need for transparent disclosures, as well as the potential for AI to alter the economics and workflow of content creation within networks.
Are Podcast Networks becoming Creator Networks? | Greg Wasserman #666
Q: How should a podcaster decide whether to join a network or stay independent?
The advice centers on understanding your why and aligning with your goals: if the aim is community and collaboration with like-minded shows, joining a network can be valuable; if independence and hosting freedom are priorities, some networks (or collectives) offer alternatives that preserve autonomy. The decision hinges on hosting platform changes, operational support, and the specific monetization path the creator wants to pursue.
Are Podcast Networks becoming Creator Networks? | Greg Wasserman #666
Q: What is a podcast network today and how is it changing with video and live content?
Greg explains that networks vary—from fully owned-and-operated studios to rev-share collaborations—and increasingly include multi-channel strategies with video, live experiences, and private communities. The core value often centers on community, access to resources, monetization options, and cross-promotion, but the exact model depends on whether the network is production-focused, brand-aligned, or collective in nature.
What Is New Media Now vs Podcasting? | Ashley Christenson / @Ashni #665
Q: How do you see podcasting fitting into the broader new media vs creator economy?
Podcasting is becoming part of a multi-format, creator-led ecosystem where audio remains central but is augmented by video, live streams, and social distribution, with ownership of the term shifting toward audience and industry context rather than a siloed medium.
What Is New Media Now vs Podcasting? | Ashley Christenson / @Ashni #665
Q: Ashley, what's your reaction to AI's involvement in defining new media today?
AI perspectives (ChatGPT, Claude) provide a baseline for definitions, but the guest argues that human-driven practice and real-world movement on X show the domain is evolving beyond any single AI definition.
