Spencer and Lee introduce Line of Succession. A new Mangum Talks podcast, following the HBO comedy-drama "Succession"
Spencer and Lee review the season 1 mid-season finale of "The Nevers." They do their best to recap a thoroughly complicated episode, award Best Line, discuss best and worst character arcs and do a little theory crafting along the way.
I have little evidence you watched the show without setting out first to pan it. No one argues that Joss—not Josh—was a creep on set. But so we’re Hitchcock, John Ford and Kurosawa.
Criticism starts with specifics that lead to evaluation at the end. Try it.
Getting better with each episode review. Recaps are good, analysis is usually spot on, podcast episode are very long to the extent I’ve never listened to a full podcast episode. An hour, maybe 90 minutes would be fine, but 2-1/2 hours? No. 4 stars because of length, not quality.
Love your reviews though somewhat harsh. Perhaps a younger male perspective.
Did I miss your take on Miss Cassini still having her turn intact and another of the so called lobotomized observing the floating pale with conspiratorial recognition. Good to know they have not been totally destroyed.
As for the Galanthi, could it have any connection to Galanthis In Greek mythology? I don’t see a connection. It probably is the blue orb but there is another that needs to be found who is in the dark u... more
Perfect for fans in a love-hate relationship with the show and a few hours to kill (like me)! It’s very entertaining, love the different segments (best line, character arch, worst character arch, etc). Can’t wait to hear what they have to say about this week’s episode.
These guys talk a lot BUT it is fun and engaging and truthful. They are not afraid to say what they’re unhappy with, what doesn’t make sense, and outright question the show makers decisions, but they aren’t unfair about it. They want to be fans. They’re also smart and make references to Game of Thrones, which makes them like my best friends. 10/10 would recommend. Great podcast.
