That was fun! I just listened to the Dragonslayer episode. I remember watching Dragonslayer in the theatre. As a young girl, it was so nice to see the princess acting courageously in the service of her people, in the face of betraying her father’s live and protection, instead of doing the usual expected princess thing. Thanks for doing the podcast! It was a fun listen and I enjoyed the movie themes and filmatic history you explored. I can’t wait to hear the episodes on Beastmaster and Conan!
Excellent Podcast - ESPECIALLY for those of us that selectively ‘consume’ the world of comic book narratives on when the opportunity arises, and not from the firehose from the publishers/studios.
This comic is nerd-licious! Check out their latest episode on Captain America: The First Avenger to hear what I mean. The conversations are warm, inviting, incredibly entertaining, and enthusiastic. Stop reading this review and just click subscribe. Thank me later.
I was going to say this show is a guilty pleasure, but hey, there’s no shame in listening to these self-proclaimed nerds talking about a bunch of films I enjoyed watching (well, not Thor Dark World). Rock on Nerds! I am firmly in your camp, even all the way over here in Paris.
I have been hooked from the first podcast. I am responding to John’s questions and I swear they hear me and say what I said. I love their camaraderie and honesty. This isn’t a fan boy for Marvel series. They are honest and insightful. John can read every book on my bookshelf aloud to me. Jeff and that laugh slay me and Dave’s dry humor makes it al work. Couldn’t ask for three better middle aged dudes to review the movies.
