  • Rabbi Gideon Rothstein current position 2024

Per the OU website, Rabbi Rothstein is the Rosh Kollel of the Yeshiva University Community Kollel based in the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway (HAFTR). Each shiur is about 20-30 minutes each. The Rav goes through each verse. There is little comment about current politics and events so the lectures are still pertinent for 2024 even if they were recorded during prior cycles of Nach Yomi.

  • Great way to learn Tanach again!

I am really enjoying this daily Tanach study! I love that the Rabbi reads the lasik and translates it and also help us understand what is happening in the story and also connects it to other events in jewish history. He also lets us know where in modern Israel the event is taking place . Absolutely highly recommend this podcast . The podcasts are no longer late!

  • Great podcast, but it's always late

I agree with the other reviewer that these lessons are a fantastic way to learn Nach. However, they always seem to come late. Recently it's been Nach every other yomi, with two podcasts coming every other day. Today is September 6th and there hasn't been a new podcast since the 3rd. This would be fine if they posted a day ahead, but they're always a day behind. How can I learn that days chapter if the podcast isn't posted on time?

  • Highly recommended

I've always wanted to learn Nach, but was never able to maintain the discipline to follow through - that is, until I learned of this series. Now I can listen on my way to work, while exercising, etc. and can go at my own pace. Each book is taught by a different rabbi, and all are well known, very knowledgeable and very interesting; each bringing their unique background and perspective to the listener. If you have a question or comment, you can even email them and you will always receive a res... more

A rigorous, verse-by-verse study of biblical narratives within a historical-Jewish framework. Episodes repeatedly unpack kings, prophets, and temple leadership, weaving Rabbinic and medieval commentary with historical context to illuminate leadership, reform, exile, and divine judgment.
