Deuteronomy chapter 6 talks about bringing the Lord into your discussions as you do every day things like walking along the road going place to place. This is sort of what this looks like, and YOU ... more

  • Awesome Podcast!

Other than all the FSU hate, this is a really awesome podcast. As someone who does not attend the orchard, this and the sermon podcast every week is a great way to get some more of the word.

  • Great podcast!

My family and I attend OCC and these podcasts have been such a great addition to follow sermons. They are funny, yet insightful. Even if you don’t hear the sermons, these have great content to learn from! Thanks for putting this out into the world!!!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 100 | One Hundred Episodes and an 18th Birthday | ft. Chip Parker
Q: What does it mean to go from a critic to a catalyst?
It means moving beyond criticism to active service, being a living embodiment of the kingdom, and applying faith to practical changes in the community rather than just talking about improvement.
Ep. 98 | Worship Fuels Mission | ft. Chip Parker
Q: How do you define 'worship fuels the mission' in practical terms for someone not at Sunday service?
Worship drives the motive and posture for outreach by centering on loving God first; from that foundation, everyday life—prayer, private study, and acts like giving—becomes intentional and mission-ready.
Ep. 102 | Hope in the One Who Is to Come... Back | ft. Chip Parker
Q: Why is Isaiah being used as the core scripture for this Advent series?
Isaiah provides a historical context and a prophetic framework that connects Israel's expectations with the ultimate hope in Christ, including both coming and coming again.
Ep. 105 | An Unlikely Christmas Story | ft. Pastor Eddie Blalock
Q: What motivated the Advent shift to include the second coming as a central focus?
The guest explains that the pastoral team did research, chose a balanced approach, and decided to teach about both the first and second advent to avoid sensationalism while highlighting hope, peace, and joy. They aimed to reach both insiders and outsiders during the Christmas season.
Ep. 123 | One More Child | ft. Chip Parker, Valerie Sanchez and Sherrie Steadman
Q: What can someone do if they want to support foster care but aren't ready to become a foster parent?
engage with your local church and community, participate in information sessions (Zoom every Tuesday at 7 PM), provide practical help like meals or child care, offer transportation or housing support, and advocate for the child by sharing information and encouraging reunification where possible.
