Some time ago, I was asked by listener Sarah Rumsey to do a podcast on composition theory. That’s a doozy of a topic, so I read a lot, I poked around, even pulled together a couple drafts, but couldn’t find the balance of breadth and depth to do this... more

Mary Hedengren is accessible, witty, and brilliant in this lovely podcast about rhetoric. There is so much great stuff on this pod, and I can’t recommend this show enough to anyone with an interest in rhetorical studies.
Thank you for creating this podcast! My only regret is not having discovered it years ago. It clearly distills dense ideas in such a way that I can think about and even do something with them. Until I started listening to this podcast, I couldn’t explain what rhetoric is or why it matters — and I hated that. Now that I’ve started listening, I’m starting to gain the language to explain those things. Again, thank you!
This podcast got me through my comps, enough said.
I love rhetoric, and having graduated in May, I was missing my daily doses of rhetoric! This podcast has helped me at least have weekly doses, and I love it! ~ "The Mother," Crime Girls Pod
Full disclosure I am a rhetorical theorist and critic and I love to see anyone, especially someone as lively as Mary, give rhetoric its due. So if you are a lover of language and you want to nerd out in a reasonable podcast-length diatribe (and appreciate some decent quality sound effects) check this out! ~Lee Pierce, Visiting Asst Prof at SUNY Geneseo
