Equal parts informative and fun! Great conversations with people you may or may not remember, but definitely worth listening to. It’s Philly’s living history!
I randomly came across this podcast while researching the Philly music scene. The interviews are very well done with a ton of info. I particularly love the episodes that focus on the R5 staff, hearing the backstory on R5 Productions is fascinating and helpful for anyone in the current DIY community. Keep up the great work Joseph.
A History lesson in Philadelphia punk rock
I knew that Joseph had been conducting these interviews for a while, but never got around to listening to them. I fixed that recently, and have to plug these for anyone interested in DIY/punk culture and what makes art and artists tick.
This podcast is a fantastic endeavor by Mr. Gervasi and his production team. No where else will you find a catalogue and record of the original Philly Punk and hardcore music scene. As a veteran of this scene of which I was most fortunate to be a part of, I can tell you firsthand that the stories and personalities he interviews are bonafide genuine and fascinating.
