  • Voice of the Owner

It’s simply a very bad show if you’ve been a Pirates fan for more than 15 years. The perspective is that of Bob Nutting. The host unabashedly defends his every move and is constantly encouraging fans to buy the company line.

  • Excellent Content

I really enjoy Gary’s insights. He’s generally very levelheaded with his analysis. He really takes the time to study the subject matter. I also enjoy how passionate he gets about certain subjects and that he’s able to show that from time to time, but not allow it to take over the podcast. Keep up the great work. That’s why I keep listening.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

CALM: Bubba Chandler’s Walk-Filled Spring Outing Needs No PANIC—Here’s What To WATCH
Q: What year were you most confident you were about to watch a winner?
1991, pretty much with no hesitation, I would say. I felt that team, the Killer Bs, the Swagger, the talent at every corner of the roster.
Momentum: Pittsburgh Pirates GRAB Wins, Bryan Reynolds & Esmerlyn Valdez SPARK Excitement
Q: Do you see a scenario where the front office pushes for a long-term extension to justify starting Konnor Griffin on opening day?
It is likely that Konnor Griffin would be open to an extension, especially given his performance, and the front office may consider it beneficial to secure him long-term.
NO-NONSENSE: Pittsburgh Pirates’ Don Kelly Sets the TONE—Spring Training ATTITUDE Shifts
Q: Isn't it easier to make square contact with a level swing? Would the Pirates be better off going back to that philosophy?
The line between levels and launch angles has changed, with many focusing too much on launch angle rather than maintaining a solid swing technique.
SENSIBLE MOVES: Pirates MULL Joey Bart TRADE as Payroll LIMITS are STILL a thing
Q: What did you think of Ben Cherington's answer on signing Marcel Ozuna?
The response is critical of Cherington's lengthy explanation and suggests that he should have simply stated that due diligence was done and expressed confidence in Ozuna's ability to contribute positively to the team.
SENSIBLE MOVES: Pirates MULL Joey Bart TRADE as Payroll LIMITS are STILL a thing
Q: Should I be worried?
The host suggests not to worry, as he was not trying to shake confidence in the pitching staff, but rather to prepare listeners for potential challenges this season.
