It has been a very long time since I’ve felt so moved by something like this. Being queer and disabled and a huge lover of hozier, this feels a bit like it was made for me. I want to write letters to hozier too.
Every episode of this podcast has felt like a punch to the face and I mean that in the best way possible. It is impossible not to feel and yes sometimes hurt after listening but there’s also such a pure feeling to those emotions that it has an almost baptismal effect. Everything feels momentarily cleansed and I can breathe again. I doubt I’m making much sense but I am grateful to you both.
more visceral than poetry, more heartfelt than a desperate prayer, these episodes speak to your soul. intrinsically human, innately otherworldly
At this time there are only two episodes, but it’s already something special. It’s such a lovely combination of homage to Hozier -that genius of music that we don’t deserve- introspection into how music affects us so closely and what makes us human, and academic concepts. Your way with words and the way you have interlinked both of your messages throughout each episode is exquisite and I look forward to hearing more.
I am not sure what existential, artistic part of me this reached as I listened to the first episode at 1am in anxiety driven insomnia, but it was grabbed. The part of my brain that this touched is clearly not often activated, because I feel an odd sense of longing after listening? Peaceful, yet strangely unnerved. more
