78 - Steinar Bakke - Chef, Coder, Actor - A Story of Bold Transitions...
Q: What was your first experience with verticals like in Korea, and how did it shape your view of the format?
Steinar describes early, low-budget student productions in Korea, many on volunteer crews, which taught him the value of experimentation and learning-by-doing despite limited resources.
88 - Amy Casazza - Transforming Actors into Legends: The Art Behind the Look...
Q: What inspires your hair, makeup, and wardrobe look development for verticals?
Inspiration starts with the director and client vision, then we absorb the app's tone and mood from lookbooks and the script. We blend this with research—especially for period pieces—while balancing budget constraints, and we aim to avoid cheesy tropes by grounding the looks in realism and high production value.
88 - Amy Casazza - Transforming Actors into Legends: The Art Behind the Look...
Q: How long before shooting do you get the script and revisions, and how do you handle finalizing looks?
Ideally, there would be about a month before shooting to finalize revisions and looks, but in reality, it's often one to two weeks. We typically receive the script for initial breakdown, with possible three revisions as clients and directors negotiate changes. Then we create lookbooks, plan the wardrobe and makeup changes, and align with the director on any tweaks before production begins.
